Sneaky Dee’s Dance Party and Bingo
There was a 2010s Dance Party at Sneaky Dee’s this weekend, which luckily aligned with the night out my friends and I have been trying to plan for months now. Since our St Patty’s Day night out didn’t go according to plan—never go out on King Street during a holiday—we’d been trying to have a proper dance/bar/club night. In accordance to the theme, my gorgeous friends and I dressed in our best 2010s outfits; one of my friends embodied Kesha’s early style to a tee, my other friend had a stunning pink top, and I wore my vintage, microscopic denim skirt.
We had also decided to test out an idea we’d seen from a Tiktok: a Night-Out Bingo. I’d made them in Procreate so they’d have a cute, sketchy look while being easily rearrangeable and reproducible. Some of the tasks that were more flirtation oriented (ex. Kiss someone on the cheek, dance with a stranger, etc.) I’d made an alternate option for someone in a relationship, and I labelled them accordingly.
At the venue, Bingo not only gave us a sense of purpose—other than dancing—so that we’d never be standing in a corner, twiddling our thumbs, but it was also a big hit with the other bar goers. Frequently, people would ask for the Bingo sheet so they could see how they could help me out, and then would work on filling out as many of the tasks as possible. Some of the tasks worked as icebreakers, as we had to ask around to find people named ‘Alex’ and ‘Maddy,’ while others worked to improve our experiences; we had to try out a new drink, dance to 2010s artists, and take a selfie in the bathroom mirror.
Needless to say, Night-Out Bingo has become a staple of our future nights out on the town.
This was the Bingo sheet I used—I completed the middle column and the bottom row!
